Varsity Men’s Bald Eagle Results

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Crew competed in the Bald Eagle Invitational on Nov. 2, 2019. The varsity mens’ crew finished in behind University of Michigan and University of Pennsylvania.   Additionally, the mens’ varsity b and c varsity eight crews performed well.  Overall, the teams are progressing in ranking.

The improvement shows that on the water training has been beneficial.  Additionally, the top three varsity mens’ crews are of eight are showing strong depth. Everyone is working to eventually earn a seat in a higher boat.  The varsity mens’ four light weight crew also performed well against the other heavyweight crews. The varsity eight crew has the capacity to improve as well.  They are off the water conditioning and strength training to reach their goals.

On the water training has been enhanced because of varsity mens’ four eight crews have been receiving an hour of individual crew coaching per week.  Due to low water levels in the Wabash River, each crew is benefitting from the one on one coaching time.

Purdue Crew carries a long tradition of being one of the largest and most successful clubs on campus. Both the mens’ and womens’ crews have consistently shown outstanding diligence, determination, and competitiveness in one of the oldest collegiate sports.
